Welcome to UMDSt!
For Monday’s class, please read:
- “The Storytelling Animal” by Jonathan Gottschall
- “What Is Web 2.0″ by Tim O’Reilly
- “How and Where to Hyperlink a News Story”
- “What Are Blog Tags”
By the end of this week, you should have accounts set up at Flickr, Youtube, Soundcloud, Twitter, and Gravatar. Please upload five photos to Flickr immediately, otherwise your photos won’t come up in searches.
You should also have your blog set up. You’re welcome to choose a free blogging service (WordPress or Blogspot) or you can put University of Michigan Digital Storytelling (UMDSt) posts on your own blog (if you already have one set up). Post your blog addresses to the CTools forum.
Your first post–a response to either Jonathan Gottschall’s The Storytelling Animal or “What Is Web 2.0″–is due by Sunday midnight.
Also, your first tweet–it can be about anything, but must feature the hashtag #umdst–is also due by Sunday midnight.
