THE INVADERS MEME: “Misunderstood Diskman”

I was inspired by Andrew Thomas’s “And a new meme is born!!!!!” post to go ahead and re-meme our favorite, tiny intrepid space patroller. I don’t know if all of the images are really on the same theme EXACTLY, but it’s close enough.

I call him the “Misunderstood Diskman.”

A “diskman” because he came on a flying disk, not a “discman” which is something that no one under thirty will know about anyway.

Making the thing wasn’t that hard. I downloaded a generic meme pinwheel background, and then used Photoshop’s quick selection tool to get the diskman from a screenshot.

The typeface is Impact, and I used the stroke effect to give it that white border around the edge.

I really like the idea of our little air force friend feeling misunderstood, because that’s pretty much the exact opposite of the message of the episode–which is about the woman repulsing the invaders.

But you know what, guys and gals? Invaders have feelings too, okay.

Here’s the original in case you want to download and make your own….

I love this meme! Good on you and on Andrew Thomas! I’m inspired to do one or two myself. Just got to think of some good lines…

Thanks for giving us the template. Much obliged for fun times ahead.
